DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

That is entirely up to you.  We do recommend that you do attain some sort of travel insurance, especially medical, but you are not required to. If travel insurance is declined, we are not responsible for any cost due to emergency.

CAN THE AIRFARE CHANGE?

Your deposit will hold airline reservations and guarantee your base fare until 60 days prior to departure, tax and fuel are subject to change until paid in full and tickets are issued.

WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PAYMENT?

Bare Borders Travel accepts checks and the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

HOW MANY PEOPLE FORM A GROUP?

It depends on the type of tour. generally the minimum of 10 people but exceptions can be made depending on the destination and payment type.  Tours may be cancelled if the minimum slots are not filled.  In special situations, smaller groups can be accepted.  Just ask.

HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT VISA REQUIREMENTS?

Visa requirements depends of the country of destination.  Bare Borders is not responsible for attaining any travel documentation.  Visit Travel.State.gov for more visa information for U.S. citizens.

HOW DO I MAKE MY RESERVATION?

We require a non-refundable deposit.  Deposits are used to hold airline seating and hotel accommodations.  The final payment is due 60 days prior to your departure. This will give you plenty of time to organize your group and secure payments. For more in-depth details, read our Terms and Conditions.    Payment plans are set up according to itinerary details.

WHAT IS A GROUP TOUR OPERATOR?

As your tour operator, we provide the most convenient option for tourists to visit, stay, and see your destination. We work in coordination with several key players of the tourism business such as airlines, hotels, restaurants and tour guides; providing a detailed itinerary for your group travel.   Bare Borders Travel operators travel with the group from start to finish, offering tour organizations services, guide, and overall assistance in making your groups tour package education and fun.

WHY GROUP TRAVEL?

Some travelers love the opportunity to meet new people.  Others want the comfort and security of a group.  It is entirely up to you.

WILL I BE CHARGED FOR MY BAGGAGE?

Yes, airline imposed baggage fees may apply and is due at the airport; please consult your airline prior to departure for the latest fees.  Because of changes in restrictions and security concerns, individual carriers on Intra-European flights can have different baggage restrictions than Trans-Atlantic carriers. Intra-European flights tend to be more restrictive on baggage weight and luggage size than Trans-Atlantic flight guidelines and could result in excess baggage charges.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

When travelling outside of North America, a valid United States Passport is essential as proof of citizenship. Most countries require specific passport valid six (6) months prior to travel date. We will make every effort to provide you with information on VISAS and immunization requirements. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary documents are obtained prior to your departure from the United States. Bare Borders Travel cannot be held responsible for improper or incomplete documentation required to enter another country. Your passport should be in good condition. CAN I SMOKE?

No smoking is allowed on the bus, in hotel rooms or during group meals. Smokers may smoke only outdoors and downwind from the group.

CAN MY CHILD TRAVEL ALONE?

Children under age 18 must room with and be accompanied on the tour by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for participating in all tour activities in which the child partakes. (Unless tour is specifically designed for younger participants.)

CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

The information provided during the tour is for your own personal enjoyment and not for professional use. Recording guide lectures for professional purposes and soliciting business from tour members while on tour or afterward are strictly prohibited.

CAN AN INDIVIDUAL WITH SPECIAL NEEDS PARTICIPATE?

Certain itineraries may include activities that present challenges to or are not suitable for Guests with special needs. Though we will make every effort to accommodate you, we strongly recommend that Guests requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of, and totally responsible for, providing assistance. Neither our Suppliers nor we may physically lift or assist Guests with personal care, onto transportation vehicles or otherwise.  Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
